Cat Seeing Double: A Joe Grey Mystery – A Book Review

This series by Shirley Rousseau Murphy is one of my favorites. It’s about as close as I get to the fantasy genre and it may eventually push me all the way into that pool. Until then, I’ll enjoy the adventures of these three talking cats with Joe Grey as their leader, as they call in tips to the local police department and charm their way into restaurants, government offices and the hearts and lives of most of the people they encounter.

This entry starts with a bang as a bomb goes off just before the wedding of the Chief of Police and one of the people the cats actually speak directly to (as opposed to the Chief of Police whom they only call on the telephone). They manage to track down the bomber, solve a murder, help an abused Weimaraner  and put a meth lab out of business.  Cat Seeing Double is fast-paced with plenty of action. With these three cats going in three directions, it’s like mentally herding cats. Even so, I was disappointed that it ended all too soon for me.
